Q4 Week 10

Dec 6, 2025

Bible Point: Jesus does great things.

Key Verse: Jesus is the way to God (adapted from John 14:6).

Big Picture: Children will learn about King Jesus and the great things he does.

Note to Parents:

This lesson focuses on how Jesus helps us understand God and also shows us the way to become friends with God. Children this age may be too small to see over the counter, too small to reach the top shelf, or too young to be allowed certain privileges. But in this lesson, we will learn that we are never too small or too young to reach God. God gave us the great gift of Jesus, who helps us understand and know God, and helps us be God’s friend.

Bible Story:

This week’s Scripture (Psalm 72:1-19) tells us that Jesus does great things. God told Solomon about the plan for Jesus to bring love, joy, and light to our lives. God knew that Jesus would help people and rescue them from their wrong choices and bad decisions. God knew that people would worship Jesus, bringing gifts, singing praises, and reading about Him. God knew that Jesus, God’s only Son, would take care of the whole world and feed the hungry people. It was God’s plan from the beginning, that if humans turned away from God, that Jesus would come to earth, be born as a baby, grow up into a man, and then die for all of our sins. But the best news is that Jesus would come back to life again! God wanted Jesus to show people how they could have a relationship with God. Jesus came to do great things, and these great things show us who God is, and how we can be friends with God.

Play and Pray:

Help your child line up stuffed animals and dolls on their bed. Remind your child that God told Solomon that Jesus would come to take care of us. Jesus did come, and he still takes care of us from His home in heaven. Let your child “take care” of the animals and dolls by hugging, feeding, washing, and kissing them.

ASK:

• How did you take care of the animals and dolls?

• What does God do to take care of us?

My Daily Song

Sing this song to the tune of “Mary Had a Little Lamb.” Look for opportunities to sing it with your child all week as a daily reminder that Jesus does great things.

Jesus came to do great things,

Do great things, do great things.

Jesus came to do great things

Because God loves us so.

Jesus helps us be God’s friend,

Be God’s friend, be God’s friend.

Jesus helps us be God’s friend,

And we can love him so.

Ready, Set, Grow!

This week, your child learned that they can follow Jesus. Your child committed to one of the following challenges as a way to follow Jesus. Help your child grow in faith this week and follow through on the challenge!

• DRAW a picture of Jesus doing a great thing from the Bible today. Hang the picture in your room to remind you of the great things Jesus does.

• HELP your family make dinner. As you work, tell your family about the great things Jesus does.

• PUT a bandage on someone in your family, and tell him or her about the great ways that Jesus helps people.
