Q4 October Week 3

Oct 18, 2025

Bible Point: Jesus came to show God’s love.

Key Verse: “Jesus Christ is Lord” (Philippians 2:11).

Big Picture: Children will thank God for Jesus.

Note to Parents:

As young children learn many new things rapidly, they develop confidence in their ability to do them and find pride in what they learn. Most young children won’t fully understand why they need to be saved from sin or how Jesus’ life, death, and resurrection showed God’s great big love. Use this lesson to help children know why Jesus came to Earth and see how much God loves each of us.

Bible Story:

This week’s Bible passage (John 3:12-21) tells us that Jesus came to show God’s love. Your child learned in class that God loved the world so much that God’s only Son, Jesus, was sent to save us from our sins (the mistakes and poor decisions we make). All we need to do is believe in Jesus and ask Him to forgive us. When we ask, Jesus forgives us and promises to gives us eternal life, which is a home in heaven with Him forever.

Play and Pray:

Sit with your child this week to look through a newspaper with coupons. Let your child cut out some coupons. Talk about how the coupons offer something special. For example, the coupon might say, “Buy one and get another free.” Explain that Jesus came to give us the gift of eternal life. All we have to do is ask Him for it.

Outdoor Adventures:

Take your child to a playground that has swings or some kind of merry-go-round equipment. Tell your child to say, “One, two, three; set me free” each time he or she wants a push on the swing or merry-go-round. Explain that Jesus saves us and sets us free from our sins.

Ready, Set, Grow!

This week, your child learned that Jesus came to show God’s love. Your child committed to give someone a “free” coupon and help that person for free. This is a way for your child to thank Jesus for coming to show God’s love. Help your child grow in faith this week and follow through on the challenge!
