Q4 Week 8
Bible Point: Tell everyone about Jesus.
Key Verse: “But the Counselor, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, will teach you all things
and will remind you of everything I have said to you” (John 14:26).
Big Picture: Children will learn to tell others
Note to Parents:
Young children enjoy telling others about things they’re excited about. And while they may be shy to talk to people they don’t know, once they get talking, they aren’t shy about sharing their opinions or explaining things they know. For preschoolers, telling others about Jesus will make sense to them if they’re excited about him. Use this lesson to encourage an excitement about Jesus so children are ready to tell others about Jesus.
Bible Story:
In this week’s Bible passage (Acts 10:1-44), Peter leaves his own city and goes to a foreign land to share Jesus’ message with Cornelius, a centurion. This was a big change for Peter, who had only shared the gospel with Jews. After a vision from God, though, Peter desired to share the good news about Jesus with everyone, including Gentiles. Most children love to talk about things that are special to them—a special person, toy, or event. During the week, encourage your child to share Jesus by talking about Him with everyone he or she meets.
Sharing About Jesus:
This week, go to a nursing home or visit someone from your church who’s shut in. Have your child take a game, and encourage him or her to talk about Jesus.
Outdoor Adventures
Take a family walk, and use this time to repeat the Bible Point to the rhythm of your walking steps. Try marching to “tell everyone about Jesus.” Or try running, hopping on one foot, or skipping as you say the Bible Point. Not only will you and your child know the Bible Point by the time you return, but you’ll also both be ready for a nap!
Ready, Set, Grow!
This week, your child learned to tell everyone about Jesus. Your child committed to one of the following challenges to tell others about Jesus. Help your child grow in faith this week and follow through on the challenge!
• LOOK at a globe with a grown-up and talk about how God wants us to TELL EVERYONE ABOUT JESUS.
• MAKE a card with your family and have a grown-up help you write “Jesus Loves You” inside. Give this card to a friend or someone you don’t know well.
