Q4 Week 2

Oct 11, 2025

Bible Point: Worship God.

Key Verse: “I am not ashamed of the gospel” (Romans 1:16).

Big Picture: Children will learn to worship God.

Note to Parents:

Children want to please their parents and teachers. The more they understand God’s character, the more they will want to respond with love. As they learn that worship is both meaningful and brings joy to the One who created them, it will feel natural to engage in it. Use this lesson to help your preschoolers understand why worship matters and the different ways they can express it.

Bible Story:

John 2:13-22 tells us that, when it was almost time for Passover, Jesus went to the Temple in Jerusalem. There he found merchants in the Temple court selling cattle, sheep, and doves, and he saw other people exchanging money. Jesus told these people to leave. He said, “How dare you turn my Father’s house into a market!” When you read this Bible passage to your child, explain that worship is essential to God.

Play and Pray:

Help your child build a temple or church using building blocks, laundry baskets, or tables and blankets. When the worshipping place is ready, sit inside it with your child and tell about Jesus clearing the Temple. Help your child think of things that would be appropriate to bring into the church and that would help him or her praise God. Examples might be musical instruments or Bibles. Then help your child think of things and activities that might make it hard to worship God, such as talking toys or running and yelling in the worship area.

Outdoor Adventures:

Go on a driving tour in your neighborhood or town to find churches other than your church. Observe the differences and similarities in the churches you see. Explain that just as there are many places to worship God, there are many different ways to worship God.

If your child made a “church” as described in “Play and Pray,” go back to that place of worship after the tour. Think of as many ways to worship God as possible, such as singing songs, praying, or clapping; then do some of these activities.

Ready, Set, Grow!

This week, your child learned that we worship God. Your child committed to one of the following challenges to worship God. Help your child grow in faith this week and follow through on the challenge!

- Sing a song with your parents or loved ones to WORSHIP GOD.

- Make something beautiful to honor God, and remember the beautiful things God has made for you.
