Jesus Notices a Widow’s Giving

Bible Point- Give cheerfully to God.

Key Verse- “Each man should give what he has decided in his heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver” (2 Corinthians 9:7).

Big Picture - Practice giving to God.

JESUS NOTICES A WIDOW'S GIVING

It’s easy to get caught up in having the “right” stuff: clothes, shoes, gadgets, and whatever’s trending. Sometimes it feels like what you own decides who you fit in with. Wanting to be accepted is totally normal, but it can make it harder to think about giving instead of getting.

This study is a chance to think differently. The things you own might make you feel good for a little while, but that feeling doesn’t last. What does last is the impact you make when you give with a cheerful heart. God doesn’t need your stuff; God wants your heart. And giving can actually bring more joy than holding on to everything for yourself.

GROWING IN TRUTH

Try This

Have everyone in your family consider things they can do without throughout the week. Maybe Dad can do without his morning coffee for a couple of days, or you can all share a frozen pizza instead of ordering in. Keep a tally of the money you save by making these sacrifices. (If you have the change, consider collecting it in a box or cup.) At the end of the week, have your family secretly give the money saved to your church or another charitable organization.

Ready, Set, Grow!

This week, write down a gift that God has given you to give and how you will use it to serve.
