Proverbs 12:20

• How can living honestly bring you peace? Are there any areas of your life in which you need to be more honest?

I need to learn to be honest with my own effort. I often find myself not giving my all so that I don’t need to feel bad if I fail. I’ll struggle with things and be sad about the results, even though I know that I was not giving my all to try for the best-case successful scenario. By living in denial, I continue to live in that cycle. By being honest, I can move on and be better with the support of the people God has put in my life. This is where the peace today’s verse is talking about is found. For me specifically, there is more peace to be found when I know I’ve given my all and come short rather than creating excuses that support my bad behavior. I want to live in the peace God has for me through being more honest.
