Genesis 50:20

• How have you experienced God during hard times and been motivated to do good during your situation?

God is always at work for our good, even in our more difficult times. When I was in high school, my mom was out of work for a bit, and finances were difficult. We were barely making ends meet, and yet we thankfully still had a roof over our heads and food to eat daily. During that time, I watched my mother give money to people in need and still f inancially support families at celebrations of life. I was confused. I wondered why she would give money away when we were struggling. I asked her years later about that, and she told me, “We can’t wait until we’re doing well to help others.” It’s because my mom remained closely connected with God that she was always motivated to do good despite her situation. Times do not have to be easy for us to do good.
