Proverbs 3:13-14

•Why is wisdom valuable in understanding God’s leading?

Have you ever heard someone associate owls with wisdom?

I got curious about this connection this week and looked it up. In ancient Greek mythology, the owl was linked to Athena, the goddess of wisdom, because of its keen vision and quiet strength. While we don’t look to mythology for truth, it’s interesting that even in ancient times, people recognized wisdom as something deep and powerful that helps us see clearly even in the dark.

As followers of Jesus, we know that true wisdom comes from God. Proverbs 3:13–14 reminds us that wisdom is more valuable than silver or gold. It’s not something we stumble into overnight. It takes time, intention, and prayer to grow in it. But the good news is that God wants to give us wisdom. James 1:5 says if we ask, God gives generously.

So here’s the question: How can you pursue wisdom this week to better understand where God is leading you?
