Moses Meets God at the Burning Bush
Exodus 2:11-3:20
How you approach this study will depend a lot on how you see your own abilities. If you feel confident, you may be more willing to accept that God can use you. If you struggle with self-worth, believing that may feel harder. The heart of this study is that God can work through anyone who is willing. As you move through the week, pay attention to your own strengths and the gifts you see in others. Encourage one another and build an atmosphere where everyone can get excited about how God might work through each person.
DAILY CHALLENGE
Choose one or more of these Daily Challenges to do this week.
• Practice a skill or hobby for 30 minutes every day this week. Consider how God could use that skill or hobby.
• Ask a friend or parent what they feel is your greatest gift, and use that gift to bless someone this week.
• Write down five goals for this year, five goals for the coming 10 years, and five long-term life goals. Spend 10 minutes a day pursuing one of those goals. Keep this list somewhere safe.
FAITH JOURNAL
How might God use you to share his love with your family and friends?
TALK WITH YOUR FAMILY
Set a fire in a fireplace or fire pit. If you don’t have one, light a candle. Observe the effects of the fire together. Then discuss these questions as a family:
• What’s so special about the way God spoke to Moses?
• What does that reveal about how much God believed Moses was the man for the job?
• What are some things God has shown you about how he can use you?
• What excuses have you made? Read 1 Corinthians 1:26-29. Then discuss these questions as a family:
• How do these verses answer your excuses? • How can you set those excuses aside?
