DEVOTIONAL:

In Bible times, families lived very differently than we do today: parents helped choose who their sons and daughters would marry. They did this because families wanted to make sure their children were cared for and loved. Rachel’s dad, Laban, agreed to let Jacob marry his daughter if Jacob would work for seven years! That’s a long time! But Jacob was willing to put in the work because Jacob loved Rachel. God’s love for us is patient and never gives up, just like Jacob’s love for Rachel!

BIBLE VERSE: Genesis 29:19 20
