Jesus Blesses the Children

Mark 10:13-16

High school is a time when you start searching for your place in the world. You want to know where you belong and who truly cares about you. Feeling valued and important helps you know that you matter and that you are enough.

In this week’s study, you will see that Jesus sees everyone as important, no matter their age or status. Even when others overlook or underestimate you, Jesus notices, listens, and cares. You are never too young or too small to matter to God. Your life has purpose and meaning right now, and Jesus invites you to live with that confidence every day.

GROWING IN TRUTH

DAILY CHALLENGE

Choose one or more of these Daily Challenges to do this week.

• As you read the Bible this week, look for more words that describe how God sees you, and write them on your frame.

• Write five things that you like about yourself. Thank God for making you that way.

• Write a card, an email, or a text telling someone how important they are to God and to you.

FAITH JOURNAL

In what areas do you need to see yourself the way Jesus does?

TALK WITH YOUR FAMILY

Read Psalm 8 with your family, and discuss these questions:

• What does this passage tell us about how God views human beings?

• How would you describe yourself—from God’s perspective?

• How can we respond to the position God has given us?

Ask each family member to think of a time he or she learned something “from the lips of children and infants” or from someone who seemed unimportant. Talk about why God chooses to use people who appear weak or insignificant.
