• Ask God to help you accept guidance.

To follow God’s guidance, we need to know how to identify when God is guiding us. During a week of prayer when I was in college, the guest speaker had an activity when she called up a couple to the stage. She blind folded one of the partners, then called up six more people. Everyone who was blindfolded, including the other partner, had to call the blindfolded person’s name, and the person in the blindfold had to identify their partner’s voice. It was embarrassing for the couple because the blindfolded one could not identify his partner’s voice. While we all laughed and teased, I realized that it can be hard to identify a voice when we do not intentionally notice a voice when we are communicating. It is easier to accept God’s guidance when we know what God’s guidance looks like.
