• What is God telling you through this verse about the words you say?

Our words have power. There was this phrase teachers would say in elementary school that went like this: “Sticks and stones may break my bones, but words will never hurt me.” This phrase was meant to help us stay strong when we were bullied. While the intention was nice, it didn’t save anyone from the pain of words. But even though words can be painful, the Bible tells us how words can give life. With the things we say, we can motivate people, build them up, help them feel seen, and help them feel loved. The choice is always ours in the words we choose to say. Do we want to speak life, or share words of harm?
