READ: Job 33:4
(Answer the question/s below in your app notes)
• What does this verse say to you about how to respond in tough times?
When I was in elementary school, I often felt out of place because of my skin tone. Even though I was in a diverse community, I had the darkest complexion. I felt insecure that people would make jokes or call me names. When I told my mom about how I felt, she told me about the country we’re from. Even though I had never been there, I was excited about the way she described the life and culture. She told me that whenever I felt scared, I should remember where I’m from. This verse tells us to remember who we are in times of trouble. We are not defined by the situation we are in; we’re defined by God, who has given us breath, who has given us the image of God to carry. Take some time and write down things that get you excited about carrying God’s image. Let that encourage you when you are going through a rough time.
