• How is your faith powerful?

The African bush elephant, the gentle giant native to sub-Saharan Africa, is one of the most common elephant species. These creatures weigh up to 13,000 pounds and measure seven to ten feet tall! One of the most remarkable things about these elephants is their strength. These animals can lift massive objects: scientists estimate that they can lift their own body weight. That’s at least four Toyota Corollas!

When you think about power, what do you think of? Whether it’s a professional wrestler, the engine of an industrial ship, or the African bush elephant, power is an amazing thing to have. Power can make us feel stronger and safer.

The stories in the Bible point to one overwhelming fact: God is powerful. And the amazing thing is that God works powerfully in and through us when we trust in God. We are empowered through our connection to God—our faith. We know stories of powerful faith like Daniel in the lion’s den, Joshua and the Battle of Jericho, and Esther bravely standing up to the king to save her people. But what’s your story?
