Middle school friendships can be complicated. Sometimes it feels like there is constant pressure to fit in or be included. Friendships can change quickly, and that can leave you feeling hurt or alone. If you have ever felt left out, misunderstood, or unsure where you belong, you are not the only one. This week, you will be reminded of something important. No matter what you face, you are never alone. God’s presence is real in your life. Even when you feel afraid, left out, or uncertain, God is always with you, giving comfort and strength.

READY, SET, GROW!

• CHOOSE a day this week to put a sticker on your shoes or pants. Let it remind you that God sticks with you wherever you go.

• PRAY every morning while you brush your teeth for you to see and feel God’s presence with you.

• WHEN you face a situation that makes you feel afraid or discouraged, remind yourself of today’s point: God is with us.

TRY THIS

Go someplace light where your shadows will be visible. Possible places include outside or a room with lamps. Move around, and look at your shadows as you experiment with what you can do. Even though your shadow may change depending on the location of the light source, you can’t get rid of it. When there’s no light source, though, your shadow disappears. Talk about how God’s presence is like or unlike a shadow.
