READ: Ephesians 6:10-11
(Answer the question/s below in your app notes)
• How can God’s presence help you be strong even when the devil wants to discourage you?
It seems crazy that not too long ago, simple protective measures weren’t legally required—like wearing a helmet while riding a bike or a seatbelt while driving. Now, we have scientific resources that show the importance of wearing these protections, but only a few decades ago, these precautions were written off as unnecessary.
We use protective gear in an effort to defend something valuable. Helmets defend our brains. Seatbelts protect our lives. The armor of God protects our spirit. Just like we don’t put on a helmet because we expect to crash, we put it on because we might. In the same way, God’s armor isn’t about being afraid; it’s about being prepared. Life will throw challenges at us: temptation, doubt, fear, and pressure. When we choose truth, faith, and prayer, we’re putting on protection that helps us stand strong. The armor of God reminds us that what’s happening on the inside matters just as much as what’s happening on the outside—and it’s worth protecting.
