(Answer the question/s below in your app notes)
• How can you express your praise for God to other people?
Bulwark: a strong defense or protection
In other words: a protective wall that keeps the bad stuff out. Used in a sentence: The castle walls acted as a bulwark, protecting the people inside from danger.
Our passage today reads, “The Lord lives!” One of the biggest differentiating factors between our God and other gods is that we worship a living God. Jesus died and came back to life. Yahweh is alive and well, and is defending us daily. You may be nervous or worried about your “foes” today—maybe not actual enemies, but things that challenge or threaten you. This could be anything from bad grades to a tragic loss of a loved one. Remember that God is a bulwark from our foes. God surrounds us with a protective wall that will shelter us in the end from the greatest threat of all: death. The Lord lives! And we’re invited to live with our Lord—not just in heaven one day, but every day of our lives here, too.
