In 2011, Kelly Clarkson released a single that would blast through department stores all across America for years to come. It was catchy, it was inspiring, and it had that secret ingredient that makes any song better: Kelly Clarkson’s vocals. The song? Stronger. Its message was simple: hard things can make you stronger.

It can be corny, but there’s some truth in the old adage: what doesn’t kill you makes you stronger. Our faith is no exception. When we go through difficult periods on our journey with Jesus, we have all the more reason and opportunity to lean into him and his care, grace, and love. As our faith is tested, God can use those hard moments to grow perseverance and deepen our trust in Jesus.
