READ: Acts 16:16-27
(Answer the question/s below in your app notes)
• How were Paul and Silas worshipping God? What happened as they worshipped?
Paul and Silas worshipped God through their lives. Their testimony, their sermons, their prayers, their singing—everything that Paul and Silas did was for God’s glory. Even when they were in prison, these two disciples always chose to worship God.
How do you like to worship God? This Sabbath, reflect on your favorite methods of worship. Jot down your top three and evaluate why you think it is that you’re drawn to those expressions.
For example, I like to journal my prayers. Writing helps me slow down and think about who God is and what God is doing in my life. It helps me understand God better and pray honestly.
Worship is joy, freedom, expression, and faithfulness. Sometimes it looks like singing. Sometimes it looks like serving. Sometimes it looks like quiet reflection. Worship doesn’t have to feel like a chore. While it can take intention and focus, it can also be life-giving.
God has given us so many good things. Worship is simply turning our hearts back toward the One who gave them.
