Remember playing Freeze Tag when you were a kid? The tagger approaching you, gaining ground, getting closer and closer until the dreaded tag... and then? You were stuck. Frozen in time, until a Good Samaritan could save you from your paralysis.

The Bible describes God’s people as pillars in a game of Freeze Tag. Except in this description, the people aren’t so much frozen as they are faithful. They’re anchored and steadfast, not frozen and paralyzed.

It’s a privilege to be confidently planted in God’s promise. It’s a blessing to be rooted in God’s plan. And when the world starts closing in on us like that tagger used to, we don’t stand frozen. We stand firm, knowing exactly who holds us steady.
