• How has God’s forgiveness comforted you after you’ve disobeyed?

Lin-Manuel Miranda’s hit Broadway show Hamilton has about a million lyrics that have become iconic cultural phenomena. Maybe you’ve heard the famous “Not throwing away my shot!”

One of the less famous lyrics says, simply, this: “Forgiveness…can you imagine?” The line references the cloudy marriage of Alexander and Eliza Hamilton following the preventable death of their beloved son, Philip. Resentment, grief, and blame are bubbling between these two characters, while the choir sings this question in the background.

You may be tempted to think that you’ve done things that are unforgivable to God. But even when we betray God, God does the unimaginable and forgives us.
