Exodus 35:4-36:38

Sometimes it can feel like you do not have much control at home or at school. Maybe adults make many of the decisions, but you are still expected to be responsible. That can feel frustrating. This week, you will discover something important. Even if you do not have a lot of authority, your choices still matter. Your gifts matter. The way you use your time, your words, and your talents makes a difference. God can use what you have right now to bless other people. You do not have to wait until you are older to live with purpose.

DAILY CHALLENGE

• SERVE God with your money. If you have money you control, choose a small amount (even $1–$5) to give. If not, choose a non-money way to give to your church.

• SERVE God with your time. Do one intentional act of service each day (5–10 minutes counts) for your church, your parents, a sibling, at school, or any other place that could use the help.

• SERVE God with your talents. Think of a creative way to use these talents to do something special for God.

TRY THIS

Every home has needs! Everyone in the home needs help from others. Take some time with your family to list areas of need. Each person— child and adult—can share his or her needs. Consider things like chores, homework, or even kind words and reminders. Once you have a list of needs, have family members sign up to meet the needs. Everyone should consider his or her own gifts and talents when signing up to meet a need. Come together in a week and talk about how you did.
