All week, we’d heard a rumor that the school principal was going to join our service project. When we didn’t see him at the beginning, we assumed it wasn’t happening. Later that afternoon, someone asked a teacher if the principal ever showed up. “Oh, he did,” she said. “He’s still out finishing his project.” “He stayed the whole time?” someone asked. “Every year,” she smiled. Instead of standing off to the side or giving directions, he worked right alongside the students.

Jesus says the greatest leaders are servants. Real leadership isn’t about being noticed. It’s about showing up and caring for others. Respect grows when we choose humility over attention. What kind of leader do you want to be?
