Moses Sends Spies into the Promised Land

Bible Point:

Be brave—God is with you.

Key Verse:

“Therefore, my dear brothers, stand firm. Let nothing move you. Always give yourselves fully to the work of the Lord, because you know that your labor in the Lord is not in vain” (1 Corinthians 15:58).

Big Picture:

Choose to be brave, knowing that God is with you.

Moses Sends Spies into the Promised Land

Numbers 13:1-14:23

It takes real courage to be different. Sometimes it feels easier to go along with everyone else instead of standing up for what is right, for someone who is being treated unfairly, or for your faith. But doing what is right when others are not takes strength. And that kind of courage grows over time. As you grow in your faith this week, you can also grow in bravery. Remember that you are not alone. God is with you, giving you strength to choose what is right, even when it is hard.

DAILY CHALLENGE

• BE brave for God by asking a friend who’s having a hard time if you can pray for them, without worrying about what anyone will think.

• BE brave for God by going out of your way to do something kind for someone you don’t normally interact with.

• BE brave for God by inviting someone new to youth group or church.

TRY THIS

Create your own “spy mission” this week. As a family, brainstorm kind things you can do for others. Then think of secret ways to do them, without the people knowing who showed the kindness. Your ideas can be as simple or as complicated as you want, depending on how much time you want to invest. At the end of the week, discuss how bravery means trusting in God’s strength rather than our own.
