• In Psalm 81:10, “open wide your mouth” is a figure of speech. What do you think it means to come to God ready to receive what He gives?

When I was little, Sundays were waffle days. For breakfast, we’d have a full feast. Puffy Belgian waffles stacked high and dusted with powdered sugar, bowls of blueberries, blackberries, strawberries, peanut butter, maple syrup, cinnamon, brown sugar, and my favorite: whipped cream. And every Sunday, I could count on another tradition: at the end, like a cherry on top, my mom would say, “Open up!” and spray an extra spurt of whipped topping right in my mouth.

God says in Psalm 81 to open our mouths and receive a blessing. When we are open to God’s blessings, we will always receive good things. How can you live with an open posture today?
