DEVOTIONAL:

When Esau returns to Isaac’s room and realizes what Jacob had done, he is, understandably, angry! Esau had waited his entire life for this blessing, and it had been stolen by his own brother! The Bible says that Esau “wept aloud” when he understood what Jacob had done. What would you do if you were Esau? The story of Jacob and Esau is a reminder that lying breaks even the closest relationships. As we have learned this week in studying this story, not telling the truth is not a good way to have good relationships. God never lies to us, so let’s follow God’s example and be honest with one another!

BIBLE VERSE:

Genesis 27:30-34

QUESTION:

How would you feel if someone close to you lied to you? Why would you feel that way?

PRAYER:

Dear Jesus, when I lie and hurt someone, help me say sorry and make things right. Thank You for helping me show love and truth. Amen.
