DEVOTIONAL:

When it was time for Isaac to give his blessing, Rebekah and Jacob came up with a scheme to trick him into thinking Jacob was Esau. Have you ever felt guilty when you do something wrong? Jacob felt guilty, and even asked Rebekah, his mother, if their plan might hurt their family. But Rebekah really wanted her favorite son to get the blessing, so she encouraged him to go ahead anyway. God doesn’t want us to lie or trick others, but even when we make wrong choices, God is still with us. In this story, we see that God is so good that He can bring goodness, even when people make mistakes.

Can you think of a situation where it would be hard to tell the truth?

PRAYER:

Jesus, please help me to be a person who tells the truth, even when it’s hard. Amen.
