INTRODUCTION
PHILIP TELLS THE ETHIOPIAN ABOUT JESUS
Bible Point: Tell everyone about Jesus.
Key Verse: “Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age” (Matthew 28:19-20).
Big Picture: Consider who you can share your faith with.
Peter Visits Cornelius
Acts 10:1-44
You know how to talk about what you believe. But actually sharing your faith with friends? That can feel way harder. This week, we’re going to explore why that is. What holds you back? What assumptions or fears get in the way? You’ll also see how someone like Peter had to face his own biases, and how learning to overcome them opened the door to something bigger. Your story might do the same.
GROWING IN TRUTH
DAILY CHALLENGE
• Whose name(s) did you write on your rubber band? Set aside time to build a relationship with those people this week.
• Every morning, stretch your rubber band and pray that God will stretch you and show you how to be bolder in sharing your faith.
• Make a list of the kinds of behaviors, attitudes, or lifestyles that make it hard for you to love someone. Keep an eye out for someone who exhibits those traits, and then look for opportunities to show that person Jesus’ love.
FAITH JOURNAL
What keeps you from telling people about Jesus?
How can you overcome those barriers?
TALK WITH YOUR FAMILY
Read Galatians 3:26-29 with your family, and discuss these questions:
• What differences have made it hard for you to accept people into your church?
• What does this passage mean to you?
• How can you better accept people who are different from you?
Have each family member think of someone he or she can tell about Jesus. Then take turns practicing with each other.
