John 1:11-13
• What does it mean to you that you are called a child of God?
Growing up, I had many cousins who were not related to me by blood. I had these uncles and aunties who were friends of my parents, but because I was told that they were uncles and aunties, all their kids became my cousins. Though we all knew there was no blood relation, the titles went a long way. Whenever there was trouble, we had each other’s backs. Whenever there was a need, we supported each other. We were dedicated to each other because of the title we embraced. To embrace the title of being a child of God is a transformative experience. God wants us to know we are taken care of, that we are loved, and that we have the best in store for us. All of these things can become easier to believe when we accept that we are children of God!
