• Why do we sometimes reject Jesus’ guidance in our lives?

It’s easy to neglect Jesus’ guidance in our lives. The example Jesus leaves for us throughout the gospels is difficult. It is constant stories of advocacy, inclusion, standing up against people with power, caring for outcasts, and spending time with people others did not like. It’s cool to read about how Jesus did that, but it is difficult for us to repeat the same actions in our contexts, at our own schools. We can be tempted to reject Jesus’ guidance because we do not want to experience discomfort in our already difficult lives of trying to survive high school, but discomfort is always worth experiencing if it means caring for people who are rejected. Where can you follow Jesus’ guidance to be more loving today?
