• How can you help someone else understand this verse?

This is one of my favorite verses in the entire Bible. I remember my mom teaching me to memorize it as a child, like it was yesterday. As a kid, I would be excited about the promise of everlasting life. To live forever made me dream of being able to play sports and video games without disruption. As I have gotten older, it’s not eternity that is as meaningful to me. What stands out the most to me in this stage of life is that God loves the world. Everything starts there. We do not need to question the motivation of God. What the Bible shows us is a story about a loving God doing everything possible to help us know we are loved.
