Big Picture:

Strengthen your relationship with Jesus.

Jesus is Baptized

Matthew 3:13-17

You might be at a turning point in your faith right now. If you’ve grown up in a Christian home, you probably know a lot about Jesus already—but you may not know why those beliefs really matter. Without understanding the why behind your faith, it can start to fade. This week’s study is meant to help you build a faith that lasts, one that connects what you believe with how you live every day.

GROWING IN TRUTH

DAILY CHALLENGE

Choose one or more of these Daily Challenges to do this week..

• Pray daily this week. As you do, make a point of referring to God as the Father and to Jesus as God’s Son, and take note of how it affects your spiritual life.

• Think of an area or areas in your life you really want to focus on making more pleasing to God. Spend time each day this week working on them.

• Talk to someone about how your beliefs about Jesus impact your life.

FAITH JOURNAL

How do you want to get to know God’s Son, Jesus, better this week?

TALK WITH YOUR FAMILY

Read John 14:6-7 with your family, and discuss the following questions:

• What are some ways you’ve seen or heard of people trying to get to God, besides Jesus?

• Why do you think God established only one way to Himself through Jesus Christ? Why not through all religions or through other great people?

• What is your reaction to the truth that there is one way to God, and that is through Jesus Christ?

After discussing these questions, ask family members to tell how Jesus has helped them draw closer to God (perhaps through the Bible, prayer, and other means). Close in prayer, thanking God for providing a way for people to have a personal relationship with Him.
