John 1:6-9
• Why is Jesus called the “light” of the world?
For a long time, I was terrified of the dark. I hated not being able to see, and looking into the darkness, I did not like the places my mind would wander to that would create more fear for me. The dark was a scary place because it carried so much mystery. But before I began to overcome my fears by letting my eyes adjust to the light that existed at night before falling asleep, I loved using a night light. It made me feel at peace and took away any feeling of discomfort and worry. While Jesus being the light of the world can mean many things, for me it meant the One who brings peace and removes worry, the One who brings rest and safety. What does Jesus being a light mean for you? Whatever your definition is, I’m sure it is something beautiful.
