Scripture: Philippians 2:1-4

• Our encouragement from Jesus should cause us to love others in radical ways. How will you do this today or tomorrow at school?

How can we foster a more loving environment in our schools? It’s sort of strange when you think about it. We rush from class to class, doing our best to absorb knowledge of science, math, history, and English, and then we rush out to fulfill our other responsibilities. If we want to be more loving, we’ll need to slow down. By slowing down, we can better understand the needs of the people around us. We are surrounded by classmates each day, but being in a hurry can make it challenging to love radically. If you’re thinking about how to be more loving tomorrow, start by asking a friend how they’re doing. Ask someone what you can pray about for them. These questions will slow you down and slow down the person you are talking to. By inviting people to share, God will impress your heart to respond with love to whatever they are going through.
