Scripture: Galatians 6:9-10

• What’s an area in which you’re tired of doing good? Pray that God will encourage you so you can continue to do good.

It may sound bad, but it is entirely normal to be tired of doing “good.” It takes energy to care about others, it takes time to care about others, and it sometimes takes sacrifice to do good for the sake of others. Some people pretend like it isn’t exhausting, but then they end up crashing and burning out. First off, I want to say that it’s okay to recognize when you are tired. Do things that recharge you; do things that take care of you. But it’s important to go back to doing good for others once you have been re-energized. I can grow tired of being there for people I care about. Taking time to listen to them and making space for them to feel safe—while these are good things to do, it can feel absolutely exhausting. God has shown me the importance of pace so that I can continue to love the people around me. Whatever good thing you are doing that you are growing tired of, I suggest you take a break so you can do it in a fuller way later.
