Psalm 23:1-3
• How do these verses help you understand God’s guidance?
When I was a Pathfinder, I went on a camping trip, and my friends and I thought it would be a good idea to go on an adventure. As we left, our director said, “If you get lost, head southwest to get back to camp.” While we were out doing our shenanigans, we ended up somewhere we did not recognize. While we remembered that we needed to go southwest, those instructions were meaningless unless we knew which direction southwest was. Luckily, one of our friends had a tiny compass sewn into their backpack, so we used that compass to get ourselves back to camp. Following God’s guidance can feel this way. God is the compass that leads us home to goodness. Even when we think we know what direction to go on our own, God wants to be our compass to guide us directly. Where do you need God’s guidance in your life?
